Title: The Celebrity Millionaires Of Competitive Gaming (Full Length)
Author: Vice
Text Type: You Tube video
Date: Wed Apr 12 2017

This documentary is about eSports and competitive gaming. Its about kids playing video games when they where younger and becoming really good at it and going pro and making millions. Playing games like League Of Legends, Counter Strike, Call Of Duty in front of millions.

This video is relevant to students my age because in the video they talk about Internet addiction and people that cant go a day without Internet. For example you can become a millionaire from gaming and perform in front of thousands upon thousands. By either playing in there room or in a PC cafe. Most of the pro League Of Legend players spend up to 18 hours a day just to keep up to the competition and be the best they can be. That's why Korea loves League Of Legends for the competition and prize pool. The Korean government class being addicted to the Internet is as bad as being a drug addict or alcoholic.  As of 2015 if you join a team and get into the League Of Legends Championship. The winner got just over 2 million dollars in prize pool. So from being a so called "nerd" you turn into a "superstar" just by playing a computer game it can turn you into a celebrity in the eSports scene.

This video influenced my understanding of gaming and League Of  Legends by showing me how a video game can turn you into a celebrity. But for some people fame gets into there head. Another example in the video a League Of Legend player named "Promise" joined a team when he was younger and the manager started the team on a loan so they where in some serious debt but the players did know about it at the time. They became a really big team and Promise was the best player in the world at the time and won a lot, The coach tried to earn back the money by match fixing and force his team the throw there games. So they threw the game but Promise could not live his life with that in the back of his mind. So he attempted suicide. He jumped off a 12 story building, luckily he fell through a garbage disposal centre and breaking his fall and putting him into a coma. After a 11 hour surgery where the doctors had to reattach his jaw Promise began to recover. After this happen people got together to make a group to help eSports athletes so they would never again fall victim to corruption in professorial gaming again. Once Promise recovers he came back to be the best League Of Legends player alive.

Title: How to build a PC - Part 1 - Newegg TV
Author: Newegg Studios
Text Type: YouTube Video
Date: Friday 31st  March

This video is based on building a computer from scratch for new computer builders. It had everything from Whats a computer to Parts and how to build a computer.

My perception of PC building changed because at first before I watched the video I thought computer building quite hard. But when I started watching the video I  learned that its not that hard if you have all the parts and some knowledge anyone can build a computer and it shows how powerful computers are. For example when Paul was talking about all the PC parts I learned that if you do little bit of research on your computer you want to build and the parts in the computer. Its not rocket science anyone that has the time and puts there mind to it can build one. It's just like connect the dots. Another example is when they show all the ipads, phones, laptops. They showed me how powerful a computer is compared to all those "hand held" devises. I relate to this because I play my games on a laptop but the games run very poorly so I decided to build my own computer so far I have brought the computer case and power supply.

This video explores ideas which are important in today's society because the i.t. industry is growing rapidly. More and more jobs are becoming bigger as in, in size of company and in paycheck. All though its not the main point of the video but computer building is in the i.t. industry. For example if you get really good at computer building you might be able to work for companies like Digital Storm and Alien Ware in the future. Another example is in 2014 there where 7,330 people in the i.t manager. industry according to careers.govt.nz. So in 2017, 3 years later it keeps growing. I relate to this because when I'm older I want to be a it manager or computer builder for the likes of Digital Storm as a full time job. If I start at a young age I could get lots of experience in the industry so bosses Will be more likely to pick me up and work for them.

In conclusion I think this video is really good for upcoming computer builders and people that want to get into i.t.. I think the DTE class should be able to watch this video in class time because it is a great video fro learning and would recommend it to any i.t. enthusiasts.
